About Us
Franklin General Hospital is a rural hospital with 25 acute care beds, a primary care clinic and a long term care facility providing high quality care in a rural setting. Our colleagues provide a full continuum of personalized care, from well child checks to end of life care and everything in between.
Technology
Medical knowledge and technological innovation continue to drive the development of new diagnostic tools and more effective treatment. FGH strives to keep pace with these new technologies by acquiring the most up-to-date equipment in mammography, radiology, surgery, laboratory, telemedicine, CT (computerized tomography), physical and respiratory therapy, critical care and emergency services.
Clinics
FGH is your Hometown Support Circle with clinics in Hampton and Latimer. Our eight full-time providers care for every member of your family with everything from well child checks to end of life care.
Specialty Clinics
Outpatient services continue to expand at FGH and bring additional health care services to our community. Visiting specialists offer general surgery, audiology, ENT/Allergy, cardiology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, podiatry and general surgery. These clinics, combined with other outpatient services such as; individualized patient education, cardiac rehabilitation, stress testing, respiratory and physical therapy programs, point to Franklin General Hospital’s drive to improve our ability to meet consumers’ health care needs.
Long-Term Care
FGH also provides access to long-term care. We operate both a nursing facility and an assisted living facility. At Franklin Country View Nursing Facility, our residents are cared for around-the-clock in a resident-centered atmosphere by qualified nursing staff. These residents have unlimited access to physical therapists, an activity director, licensed and registered dietitian, and full-time social worker. Because the nursing facility is connected to the hospital and clinic, we can promptly provide many services to our residents. And because of this connection, residents have peace-of-mind, knowing all diagnostic, surgical and critical care units are just down the hall. The same is true of our Franklin General Assisted Living residents. One- and two-bedroom apartments provide a homelike atmosphere with the safety and security of around-the-clock care providers on site and easy access to their primary healthcare provider and ancillary services.
MercyOne Affiliation
Franklin General Hospital is a MercyOne Affiliate, which allows us to partner with MercyOne – North Iowa through a management and CAH agreement. The Franklin General Hospital Board of Trustees maintains complete control of Franklin General Hospital operations, while taking advantage of the cost savings, management expertise and educational offerings available to a larger, tertiary facility such as MercyOne.

Franklin General Hospital offers a full continuum of care for the entire community. We are more than just a hospital; we provide inpatient and outpatient services, a long-term care facility, our main clinic facility in Hampton, as well a satellite clinic location in Latimer, a specialty clinic, an emergency department, a comprehensive rehabilitation program, and more.
